About NACG

Northland Amateur Communications Group is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization bringing together local radio hobbyists and tech enthusiasts across North Iowa. We promote the legal, proper, and active use of wireless communications; from traditional radio modes to emerging decentralized networks.

Our community covers a broad range of technology, including Amateur (Ham) Radio, CB, GMRS, and modern off-grid mesh networks like MeshCore.

What We Do

We focus on building reliable communications, sharing knowledge, and serving our community:

• Emergency & Public Safety Support: Assisting storm spotters, chasers, and North Iowa SKYWARN®.
• Community Event Coverage: Providing safety and tactical communications for local events.
• Resilient Communications: Building and experimenting with backup communications and local mesh networks for when standard infrastructure fails.
• Education & Growth: Helping newcomers get licensed, learn radio fundamentals, and explore modern wireless tech.
